Frankly, I wouldn't be impressed with me either. I've been to four countries since my last post and haven't said a word about any of them! Well I never! How rude.
Nothing like making up for lost time! I'll be re-visiting my trip to Berlin last year with photos and I'll touch on my trips to NYC, London and Paris this year!
Hope you all love the pictures and descriptions. I miss blogging as much as I miss sunshine in December!
I love you all! Stay tuned :)

Last Surf Club & Night Out!
Friday was the last Surf Club for myself. Francis was hosting a Pot Luck that night at the Focus building, but, Maree and Scott had already planned for Mom and I to go to their place for an authentic Aussie BBQ.
Mom did not want to join in the Surf Club activities and would meet me at Muffin Break at 5:30 where we would meet Maree and Scott and all go to their home together.
It was bittersweet, the last surf club. Everyone I loved was there.. it just didn't sink in. I knew tomorrow would be another story.
Perfect weather though!

Unfortunately, I didn't take my camera to the BBQ.. don't ask me why!!! But, it was so lovely. Scott, Maree, Alice, Cameron, Trent, Jamiee, etc. Everyone was there!!! I brought Pumpkin Pie that I made beforehand so everyone could try. They had never tried pumpkin pie before! It's my FAVOURITE!!!
Dinner was fantastic, chicken, beef, etc. Lots of appetizers. Of course we had muffins as well! We drank Midori magaritas and I gave everyone little gifts from Canada that Mom brought down. Tim Hortons coffee, bags, keychains, etc. Jamiee bought me this beautiful portrait piece with 3 pictures of the Gold Coast professionally framed. Alice gave me one of her handmade silk scarfs and Maree & Scott bought me a Pandora bracelet with 2 charms: a kangaroo and Joey, and a muffin charm. I never take this bracelet off. I worked with the most thoughtful people ever.
Oh, Cameron and I ate a whole tray of chicken together.. I love him so much!!! My little brother in Australia.
After dinner, it was getting late and I had to work my last shift the next morning so Maree drove us home. Perfect night with my Australian family.
My shift the next day was good. No problems.. just an empty feeling in my heart all day. I've never actually felt my heart break, but I did when I realized I was actually leaving the next day. All in all, a very good shift.
That night, we had all planned to go up the Q1 building for the last night. It worked nicely because it was also our friend Matt's birthday.

My lovely ladies up the Q1 building.

Squeeze in.

Meoooow

I'm pretty.

On the elevator! 77 floors baby!

Hugs for my Fran.

Melbas with my ladies! Kara met us after she was done work.. but didn't get a picture with her. A hug was all I needed!

Maggie Subs!

Roomie loves.

Sitting on the beach. Waiting for the sun :)
I got home at 5 a.m. and still hadn't packed. It was a funny journey trying to shower/pack/sober up! hahaha!
No we were off to Fiji. xo

Last couple weeks in Australia!
My last couple weeks in Australia were quite the blur. With Mom coming to visit, to having to say goodbye to some of my most favourite people, it was an emotional whirlwind. It's even emotional now for me to go through all these pictures! Hahaha!
I wish I could put more detail into each event, but, all I have are pictures and a mangle of memories! I'll do my best to put the events in order .. enjoy!!!
The last Surf Club I went to before my Mom arrived was pretty fun. I went with Larry and Alysha and we enjoyed the sunset. My Mom was coming the next day so I was pretty pumped. Larry and I thought it to be funny to switch shirts. We're special friends.

P.S. For all you dirty-minds out there.. Hooker is a position on the rugby team. Hahaha.
The girls showed up later and we all had our giggles.

Oh, have I told you about family packs? Omg, they're from McDonalds. They basically come with 4 burgers, 4 fries and drinks. You can change the meal depending on what burgers you want... and they're only $19!!!
Well, we stayed away from the family packs as much as we could in a year (some of our other friends had less resistance! hahaha) and decided that tonight was the night for our family pack! Nothing like a few brews and then copious amounts of grease! hahahah!

Thumbs up!
Before I went to Surf Club, I picked up my rental car from Budget to pick Mom up the next morning. My building didn't have a garage.. but Larry and Alysha were so sweet in offering their space to me for the night. So I parked it there for the night and everything was perfect!
The next morning I drove to Brisbane airport to pick up Mom. I was about 2 hours early so I got a latte and just chilled. Then she came! It was very exciting to see her!! Today would just be about showing her my place and Surfers. It was going to be hard for her to stay up long as it was for me too when I first got there!
So, I got her safe and sound back to my place. She met Jess and Kevin and Larry stopped by while Lysh was at work. Nothing like a introduction shot!!!

Cheers! Shotbox Shots for all!
The next day, which was perfect weather by the way, Mom and I headed to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. This is the same one I took Robert to when he came to visit. Mom got to feed the Larikeets, the kangaroos and see the koalas. I think she enjoyed herself hahaha!

After having a great day at the Sanctuary, we headed home. I arranged with all my closest girlfriends to meet at Melbas for $2 steaks and $2.50 Stella Artois! Hahaha It's a special they have every Sunday and I hadn't been yet! It was also a great opportunity for Mom to meet all my friends over dinner!
Yes, the steaks weren't bad. It was a fun night. Jess hadn't received her free fishbowl on her birthday, so they gave it to her tonight!! She likes to share wif me.. I loves her!

om nom nom!
The next few days with Mom were relaxing. We had a busy few weeks coming up with traveling to Fiji and New Zealand, so this last week was all about taking it easy and enjoying my last week.
We lounged on the beach and went to all the malls around me. I also took her to the uni to get my allergy shot so she could see the campus!
I decided I wanted to work my last week as I would regularly. I was scheduled in for Wednesday night and Saturday-day.
After I got home Wednesday, I brought a bunch of muffins home and invited everyone over for drinks. We had a blast playing drinking games and being ridiculous. Yes, we ate a tomatoe and rolled me up in plastic wrap. The pictures may speak for themselves hahaha!

We're ridiculous. But fun. More later. xo

Get Wet Surf School!!! 11/19/10
I know it's a little out of order, but, I thought I would post some pictures of the first time I went surfing!
Alysha, Larry and I hadn't tried surfing yet, and I was about to leave for Fiji in 2 days. So, we all looked online and booked our surf lesson with Get Wet Surf School for Nov. 19th.
The van came and picked us up the next morning and drove us to the Spit where the lesson would take place. They even let Mom come along to watch and take pictures!
We got to the Spit and they suited us up in wet-suit tops, and we wore our bathing suit bottoms. We paired up to carry our long-arse boards to the beach from the parking lot. I paired up with a nice girl from Adelaide here on vacation.
We posed for some pictures prior to the beach:

In the van!

LarBear pumped!

SUIT UP

Here we go!
So we headed to the beach, where the instructors had us put our boards on the beach and practice standing up. It was really easy on the sand, let me tell you! We were so pumped to get in the water.. it wasn't a sunny day, but it was still hot. Perfect last day to surf. Here are the beach pics:

Excitement!

Pay attention!

We can do it!

Look Ma! I can surf!
Alright, here are pictures the instructors took of Larry, Lysh and myself surfing.. they are not flattering in the least, but frankly, I surfed in Australia.. I can look like that. :P Weeeee!!!

Water got up my nose.. a LOT!

Hurro?? hahahaha

Tandem Surfing with my Lysh!!!

CHEAH!!! Hangin' looooose!
Well, there you have it. We did really well for our first time getting up on the board numerous times. It was exhausting though! No wonder those surfers have awesome bodies!!! hahaha Anyway, we loved it and it was worth every penny!
