Shantz Siblings Down Under: Day Eight

Alright, so check out from the hostel was at 9 or 10. I can't remember, but most hostels have their check out time between then. So we grabbed our sheets and took them up front. When you go to a hostel, you have to give a key deposit that you get back when you check out... if you still have your key! Well, we both had our keys, but were offered 2 tshirts and 2 hats instead of getting our deposit back.. so we got them! They're pretty sweet tshirts!

We got the free shuttle into the city compliments of the hostel. We then started walking towards the XXXX Brewery where we had a tour booked at 11 a.m. We decided to call this day, Backwards Day. This due to the fact we were going to have beer and food in the morning.. and would go out for breakfast in the evening. We're so clever.

So, the directions the guy gave us to get to the Brewery were horrible. We ended up finding the place 10 minutes before the tour began. Could have been worse! Anyway, the tour began and told us all about XXXX (oh, you say it like 4X.. not X X X X like I did when I first got here..hahaha) and it's founders, etc. Then they explained/showed us the ingredients to make beer. Do you know them?? There are 5:

1. Hops
2. Yeast
3. Water
4. Sugar
5. Barley

Yes, very educational. We went through the plant and saw all the machines that make the beer and the processing/shipping area. It was honestly a really good tour for 20 bucks a person! Then, at the end, you received 4 free drinks of the 4 different types of XXXX beer. They have a bitter, light, etc. We were so hungry so we ate amazing burgers with our beers. So delicious. We were a little tipsy when we left, but, I bought an awesome hat from there. Weeee!

Then, back on the train. We still didn't know where to scan our cards, so, you guessed it.. Free ride home from Brissy!!! hahaha!

We got back to Surfers later and decided to go get "breakfast" at Pancakes in Paradise. An all-day breakfast place. It was pretty funny to be there at like 6 p.m. eating pancakes. Hahaha. I took videos of some of our adventures so I'll post the links to the videos later on. We also took some pictures at this awesome alley wall that has beautiful graffiti paintings.

We got home and Jess was back. She bought me an awesome Volcom clutch from up North. Such a sweetie. xo
