Shantz Siblings Down Under: Day One

I've never been so anxious for something. I couldn't sleep the night before Robert's plan arrived. His flight was to come in at 6:30 a.m. from Los Angeles to Brisbane. I was so excited, I decided not to sleep and to go to the airport 3 hours early. Fantastic!!! Hahaha

I had already rented a car from Budget to go and pick Robert up in. It was a white Hyundai and I looked good in it!!! I parked it on my street and when I went down to drive to the airport.. BAM, parking ticket. Lovely. Anyway, I had an easy drive to the airport and got a great parking spot.

Then I waited.
I honestly paced, walked, sat, looked at stuff, went to the car, played on my phone. I couldn't stop.

I was so happy when passengers started coming off the flight from LAX. As soon as I saw him, we ran to each other and hugged. It was so cool. I loved having a bit of home down here.

From there we drove back to my place and unloaded the car. Jess and her boyfriend were on a 2 week road trip and she had offered her bed for Robert to have while she was gone. So nice of her. The Shantz kids had an apartment to themselves in Surfers Paradise! :)

After unpacking, we went to the beach and collected coral and shells, walked in Surfers, went to the shops, ate Hungry Jacks brekky wrap and just took it easy. After a bit we decided to make the most of the rental car, so we drove up to Harbour Town outlet mall. I'm going to be honest, I don't remember much of Harbour Town as I hadn't slept in a day or so and Robert was just as delusional. It was hilarious.. we drank so many coffees and energy drinks that day!!! hahahaha!

Harbour Town; done. Now it was time to start introducing. We went to Alysha's and Larry's place to meet them. Larry was studying, so the 3 of us went to Zarraffas for a coffee. Robert was so tired. We couldn't stop laughing. hahaha!

Coffee; not working. We decided to go home and have a "little nap" .. fail. Robert didn't wake up until the next day. Greys Anatomy Season Finale was on that night, so I HAD to get up. Alysha came over to watch it and we cried, yelled, died, etc. It was SUCH a good episode.

We're nerds, we know.

Greys Anatomy; nap interruptor. I went to bed after so I could have enough energy for our trip to Byron Bay tomorrow! xo
